Movies Spike Lee Goes To War In Miracle At St. Anna miraclestanna_main.jpg At a recent press conference at Cannes, director Spike Lee sparked controversy when he beraded Clint Eastwood for making two WWII films in a row— Flags Of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima —with no black actors. If you need proof that African-American soldiers did play a role in the war, look no further than Spike’s new movie Miracle At St. Anna . Movie Preview: Miracle At St. Anna

When Spike Lee isn't making waves with his speech, he's making movies that also provoke. The latest addition to his canon, Miracle At St. Anna, will be out this Fall, and this week brought us the first glimpse of its trailer. The film is an adaptation of a novel by the same title and follows the harrowing story of four African-American soldiers trapped in an Italian village during World War II.
This is the first feature-length film Lee has released since his terrific 2006 "joint" Inside Man, and based on the trailer, it looks like he may have found a way to examine history, tell a great story, and ...

[image] FirstShowing.net believes that the Hulk will probably be a villain in the upcoming "Avengers" movie. I would love to hear people's thoughts about this. Here is the new trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson's "Death Race." Could this actually be good? Jack Black says that a first draft of a sequel to "School of Rock" has been written, but he won't do it unless Linklater is in the director's seat. There has been a rumor going around that Marvel wants Leonardo DiCaprio to play "Captain America." Also, the scene in "The Incredible Hulk" with Captain America was cut out... just so you know. Won't spoil the scene to the rest of you who haven't been spoiled ...

Pixar's new short? It will be "Amazing"
Published 6/17/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (Reel Fanatic) at Reel Fanatic
This week in our movie summer is so bad that I'm just gonna have to pretend it doesn't even exist. "Get Smart" vs. "The Love Guru"? The only loser here appears to be the viewer. I can't even look at Mike Meyers without wincing, and even with Steve Carell and the very funny Ken Davitian on board I just can't bring myself to watch yet another TV retread. But, if you can wade through all that crap (or, as I'm recommending, just ignore it), we finally get "Wall-E," the latest from Pixar, usually the highlight of my movie summer. I've made my love of Pixar clear here many times before. Though I found "Cars" to be amazingly ...

The repairing of Disturbia director D.J. Caruso and Shia is currently getting a lowly 25% over on Rotten Tomatoes, and here are two examples of ...
Weekend Box Office Estimates: “Eagle Eye” Soars To #1

What? No one payed attention to the crappy reviews? That’s fantastic!
Not surprisingly, the Dreamworks/Paramount thriller Eagle Eye easily took the top spot at the box office this weekend with a $29.2 million opening weekend. The debut was the best since the middle of the summer and the fourth best September opening of all-time, easing any concerns that the fall box office might be a bit sluggish following a record-breaking summer.
Fellow newcomer Nights in Rodanthe slotted in at second, though receipts were likely hurt by Friday night’s presidential debate. The ...
