New Trailer for Meirelles’ Blindness A second trailer for Blindness is now online. In the Fernando Meirelles ( City of God ) directed film, which opens September 19, a city is ravaged by an epidemic of instant “white blindness”. Those first afflicted are quarantined by the authorities in an abandoned mental hospital where the newly created “society of the blind” quickly breaks down. It’s based on the José Saramago novel and stars Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Danny Glover, Alice Braga and Gael García Bernal.

Blindness.jpg There's a new trailer online for Blindness, the film from Fernando Meirelles which is based on the prize winning novel from José Saramago ( Amazon.co.uk [image] / Amazon.com [image] / Play.com ). The film tells the story of an epidemic sweeping the world that makes people blind, the disease is spread by contact and soon blind people are being quarantined and removed from society. One woman pretends to be blind in order to stay with her husband who has been taken to one of the camps, and the rest I should leave for the trailer. Waaaay back in April we posted the first poster and teaser for the movie Blindness, which stars the amazing Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Sandra Oh and Danny Glover.
The plot looks pretty awesome. It has a feel of a classic science fiction movie, sort of like Children of Men a few years ago.
From what I can gather, the story revolves around an epidemic of blindness that forces the government to quarantine the people with this affliction into one area. And Moore’s character goes along with the, yet is the only one in the quarantine zone that can see.
