Published 10/13/2008 by Variety.com * at Thompson On Hollywood
Joseph Gordon-Levitt hasn't had much truck with politicians. Until Barack Obama. He's pushing the uncommitted generation to get out and vote, this time, via his own Obama video. Here's his email: Hello my friends, Joe Gordon-Levitt here-- Well, I've never-but-once emailed you all en masse, as they say. ...

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Says Politics Is Bullshit, But...
Published 10/13/2008 at WOW Report
Actor Gordon-Levitt says he made this video "for everyone," but "especially for people who are just too cynical about anything political to care what happens November 4th. Especially especially us too-cool-for-school youngsters." (t/y Beau)

Obama Isn’t Bullshit. Clip of the Day

You might have seen the “Don’t Vote” PSA featuring Hollywood celebrities ranging from Leonardo DiCaprio to Jonah Hill attempting to use reverse psychology in an effort to get lazy, apathetic Americans to register and then take part in this year’s presidential election. It’s a bit long for something so urgent and potentially influential, but it’s cool that so many unrelated famous people came together for something so important. Anyway, the guys at MagicHugs.com have now re-edited some of the footage from that PSA to ...

Still Undecided? Maybe Joseph Gordon-Levitt Can Help! [Defamer Decides 2008]
Published 10/13/2008 by Seth at Defamer
Not only is Joseph Gordon-Levitt a gifted young actor, he's also a budding filmmaker in his own right: Perhaps you recall his fine work in Pictures of Assholes, a short documentary in which he attempted to delve into the unknowable psyche of the paparazzi. His latest project, currently screening in YouTube-directed browsers everywhere, is a political memoir, tracing his roots back to his years as an impressionable young MTV watcher, through the last eight rancorous years, to his present-day love affair with a man from Honolulu. Say what you will about this Obama rhapsody: it's a gritty affair, more likely to ...

Here's his email: Hello my friends, Joe Gordon-Levitt here-- Well, I've never-but-once emailed you all en masse, as they say. But it seems that in these days and times, we've come to expect and accept mass emails concerning our #1 Man, Barack. So here's what I made... It's for everyone of course, but it's especially for people who are just too cynical about anything political to care what happens November 4th. ...

Australia vs the Zeitgeist (The Hot | Not List)

| HOT Z is for Zeitgeist Ever wanted to remix DJ Spooky? The Australian Broadcasting Corportation's pool.org.au project is playful, hip and somewhat radical, at least for something initiated by a public broadcaster. Encouraging and showcasing the reuse and remixing of digital art, the site is a petri dish for experimentation and a great lesson in digital rights management. The social media project is a platform to share creative work with an online community and ABC producers - music, photos, videos, documentaries, interviews, ...

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Rocks the Vote (+ Proposition 8)
Published 10/14/2008 by filmexperience@gmail.com (NATHANIEL R) at Film Experience Blog
Defamer informs that this political memoir is from the young actor (he does not appear) Can't agree with everything said here -- or the illusion that no politicians before Obama were worth caring about (huh?) -- but I enjoy it when actors get political. I've never understood why people think it's so wrong that entertainers speak out. They're citizens too. In some ways mega-wealthy slightly left-leaning celebrities are our only hope. Massive corporations and massive churches are often right leaning and they're not shy about throwing their moneys and volunteers behind ...
