Conan O’Brien Striking Rock Band with His Skills
Robin Malau Dot Com —
This is a short cool video showing Conan o’Brien killing time waiting for his time to be back on air while Writer’s Guild strike happen. He actually can pull the famous intro of Purple Haze, playing along with Radiohead’s Creep in his staff’s Rock Band session, and can pull a long scream ala Beastie Boys’ Sabotage.
My two cents: i think he’d rather stick to his guitar than to be a mic man. If he choose the mic, then he must stay talk rather than scream. It’s weird.
But this is fun. ...
Conan O'Brien Is Actually A Very Funny Man [Conan O'brien]
Gawker —
I was just getting depressed about how unfunny professional comedians are and how the strike lays that bare and how sad that is. Then came across this video of Conan O'Brien singing the Beastie Boys' Sabotage as Edith Bunker from All In The Family. It made Kottke laugh. It made us laugh. It will make you laugh. Also: check out O'Brien's 2003 TimesTalk interview with snowy-haired TV reporter Bill Carter. It's great.

Jon and Steve Cross the Line
MSN TV Blog —
After months off the air, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are coming back at us tonight...without writers. What will they talk about? Well, between Iowa and New Hampshire I'm sure they'll both manage. I've been grudgingly impressed by the writerless late night shows so far. Bearded troubadour Conan is a hard act to follow, but I bet Mr. Stewart and Mr. Colbert have some tricks up their sleeves. - Posted by Kate

HYPEFUL —
On a recent episode of Late Night , Conan OâBrien put together a video depicting how heâd spent the days waiting to return to the air since the onset of the Writerâs Guild strike. It turns out The Cone Zone has been doing more than just nurturing his strike beard - Consie has also been sharpening his axe skills and busting in on his staffersâ Rock Band sessions to play along with Radioheadâs âCreep,â and covering Beastie Boys’ âSabatogeâ in the voice of Edith Bunker . Conan O'Brien has the hottest strike facial hair
PopWatch —
Finally. Now that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are back (catch Ken Tucker's review of their performances here), we can add 'em to the O'Brien-Letterman mix and make a fair and balanced decision about who has the best-looking new facial hair on late-night TV. This is important! Stewart went with a traditional Strike Unibrow to show ...
