You know, that muppet blog idea I had last week is seeming better and better as the Sesame Street posts stack up... This week, Neil "Doogie Howser MD" Patrick Harris pops up on the puppet show playing a singing, dancing shoe fairy. (Yes, you read that right.) It's not enough that he's Emmy-nominated for "How I Met Your Mother" and also the star of the year's coolest web-only production, Joss Whedon's "Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog." Now Neil Patrick Harris is also guesting on "Sesame Street." And the actor - who was outed last year - is playing the Shoe Fairy. Someone has a sense of humor - Harris sure does. Aug. 23, 2008 | "In the Woods" and "The Likeness" by Tana French Book covers I'd heard good things about Tana French's first novel, "In the Woods," so when a paperback copy arrived with her latest, "The Likeness," I decided to check out the first chapter. I came to four days later with unwashed hair and a massively backlogged to-do list. Although technically crime fiction (the narrator of each book is a police detective), French's fiction is hypnotic and truly mysterious in a way I associate more with Donna Tartt.
