Playing for Letterman last night, Tegan and Sara slowed down their already-languid "Call It Off", an acoustic guitar-led strummer from last year's Chris Walla-produced The Con. The Canadian sister act skitter through this breakup song, Sara's keyboard underpinning Tegan's delicate guitar plucking. And Dave shows off his people skills, managing to remember which of these tuneful twins is which.

Unfortunately, this clip of Tegan and Sara doing Call It Off on Letterman features far fewer phones than the official video . The Canadian duo dropped by Letterman to promote The Con (which seems like its been out for roughly three years), and they do a good job of conveying the song s tenderness in a live setting. Dave must really dig Tegan and Sara, because not only does he promise his audience they ll enjoy the performance, he is able to tell which twin is which. [ Stereogum ]
