Cheaters host Joey Greco's stabbing was staged, paid actor says

Cheaters has been on the air for nine years now, documenting scorned lovers confronting their cheating partners in the act, with a camera crew in tow. It's like an episode of Jerry Springer filmed in the cheaters' natural habitats. And the syndicated series is often accused of being fake, particularly since a 2003 episode during which host Joey Greco was stabbed, which to me has never seemed genuine, although some of the early episodes certainly did.
Inside Edition reports today that the stabbing was faked, as was a relationship shown on at least one episode.

I was pretty sure at least some of it was staged. One Texas apartment complex seemed to be used over and over again. Some of the reactions felt off. And the whole twisted endeavor seemed just too entertaining to be true. Didn't care. Now here comes "Inside Edition" finding two cases where "Cheaters," well, cheated. A couple says they were paid to pretend to cheat. And the show's most famous clip, where Grecco was supposedly stabbed, was said to be staged. The crack investigation journalists at Inside Edition have discovered something mind blowing. Cheaters is staged! IE spoke to one couple who claims they were paid to pretend to cheat and then levies a pretty damning charge against the late night guilty pleasure. Remember that time the show's host got stabbed?
