The Day the Earth Stood Still Teaser The first teaser trailer for the remake The Day the Earth Stood Still has just hit the net. If you’ve already seen Hancock then odds are you’ve seen this too, but those who haven’t been to the theater yet can check it out below. Keanu Reeves stars in the remake of the 1951 classic as Klaatu, an alien who has come to Earth to warn the human race of a possible attack. Scott Derrickson ( The Exorcism of Emily Rose ) directed the film, which also stars Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates, Jaden Smith, Jon Hamm and John Cleese. It arrives in theaters on December 12, 2008 .

If you saw “Hancock” already you’ve probably seen the first teaser for Scott Derrickson’s upcoming sci-fi thriller “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” which stars Keanu Reeves as an alien whose arrival on Earth creates quite an upheaval. You can check it out below. The trailer doesn’t reveal that much about the plot, but the special effects look pretty gorgeous. Five new stills from THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL have now hit the net. My hope is that this movie is a lot better than the recent remake of War of the Worlds, and so far judging by what I've seen as well as the inclusion of KEANU REEVES, it could well be!
