Whoopi Goldberg was snubbed by the Oscars last night!
The Oscar winner herself was the first woman and first person of color to host the Academy Awards, yet she was left out of the montage of Oscar hosts on Sunday.

Not only does Whoopi Goldberg have to suffer the daily indignity of being a chatting head on The View, but now her co-hosts had to go and rub it in that the Oscar winning actress and Oscar hosting actress was not shown in one of the montages last night. Sherri Shepherd prattled on and on about how it must be so terrible to feel so slighted and Barbara Walters inadvertently said that nothing Whoopi did on the Oscars was a Great Moment. Whoopi Goldberg was snubbed by the Oscars last night!
The Oscar winner herself was the first woman and first person of color to host the Academy Awards, yet she was left out of the montage of Oscar hosts on Sunday.
How dare they!
Whoopi has been in numerous movies, I haven’t seen one that I haven’t liked. She’s hosted the event FOUR times.

The ladies on The View were quite upset over the fact that moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, was left out of the montage of former Oscar hosts at the 80th Academy Awards last night. They listed all of the reason why she was special and should have been included which, ultimately, brought Whoopi to tears and prompted her to get up and hug and kiss each of her co-hosts.
They are right!!! Whoopi should have been included.

In this brief clip from The View, the ladies drive their point home about how wrong it was to leave Whoopi Goldberg out of a tribute to past hosts of the Oscars. To the Oscars credit, Whoopi was included as an Oscar winner, but not as a host. Whoopi was nearly brought to tears. I’d much rather see moments like this, then those terrible days when Rosie was on the show.

Now I know some folks in the black community have “issues” with Whoopi Goldberg for whatever reason. But oh well. This needs to be said. Last night’s Oscars program conveniently left out Whoopi Goldberg during their ALL ACADEMY AWARDS HOSTS MONTAGE clip. Yes, they also conveniently forgot Steve Martin as well, but I believe this exclusion of Whoopi stung because of the history she made while hosting the Oscars. It appears this was the Oscar of montage omissions with Whoopi Goldberg and Steve Martin both missing from the montage that included various moments from past hosts. Goldberg has hosted the awards show multiple times and was the first black woman to host the show, so it would seem a bit odd that she wouldn't have been included in the montage.

Whoopi Goldberg held back tears on Monday’s installment of The View as she spoke of her disappointment at not being included in an Oscars montage despite hosting film’s biggest night in 1994, 1999, and 2002. Today there has been some fall-out about some of the editing choices made with the many montages featured in this year's Oscars ceremony. One of the bigger ones is the omission of Whoopi Goldberg from the Oscar hosts reel. As the ladies of The View discuss in the clip below, Whoopi's hosting broke several records, so it does seem strange that they would leave her out.
On the other hand, I don't envy producers of these award shows, given the egos in this business and how impossible it would be to assuage all of them.
