The Wackness is one of those movies which is almost impossible to market in a PG world. It’s about a teenager drug dealer’s last summer before he heads off to college. And while that’s the one sentence breakdown, I’m sure you can already tell, it’s much more than that. I’ve given this movie rave after rave, and have seen it four times on the festival circuit. The Wackness Gets a Red Band It seems the trailers for the Sundance hit The Wackness keep getting better and better, and this new red band is no exception. The film centers on a troubled high school student named Luke Shapiro - a marijuana dealer who forms a friendship with Dr. Jeffrey Squires, a psychiatrist and kindred lost soul. The Jonathan Levine directed film stars Josh Peck, Ben Kingsley, Olivia Thirlby, Mary-Kate Olsen and Famke Janssen. It opens July 3 .

Plus it's set in the summer of 1994, meaning the hip hop soundtrack should be good. Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince anyone? The red band trailer for The Wackness ...

I didn’t really think much about the film until I saw the trailer. The creepy make-out scene isn’t in the preview, and, in fact, Olsen is barely seen so I’m not sure what role she plays in the story line. I found the trailer compelling, though. I think it ...
