Brief Absurdity: For Your Consideration…
TheBadandUgly.com —
Total Film has put together a “For Your Consideration” trailer, but as most of these puppies go to Academy voters and feature films like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button or The Wrestler, this trailer pimps The Spirit as the winner for The Razzie’s Worst Picture 2008.
The Razzies are yearly awards that recognize the worst in film. The Spirit is certainly worthy, but does it beat out The Love Guru?

This is just about perfect. Kudos to Peter at Slashfilm for posting this and most of all, many thanks to TotalFilm for doing it in the first place. It's a For Your Consideration ad promoting Frank Miller's The Spirit...for Razzie Awards.
The film will no doubt get its share of nominations; Sam Jackson and Scarlett Johansson seem like prime candidates for supporting Razzies, and there may be a Worst Picture slot reserved ...

For Your Consideration: “The Spirit”
Hollywoodtuna —
Because I have absolutely no problem kicking a movie when it’s down, I present a pretty compelling For Your Consideration ad for The Spirit… for the ‘09 Razzie Awards that is. The video comes to us from TotalFilm and I love the idea, it’s something the Razzies should absolutely pick up on - now how long before Fox makes one of these themselves for Meet Dave or Babylon AD?

Anyone feeling bad for picking on The Spirit, Frank Miller's directorial debut, which has earned a staggeringly low $18 million in its two weeks of release? No? I didn't think so. So here's a "promotional" video, asking you to consider The Spirit for Worst Picture at the upcoming Razzies, along with many of the film's finest reviews. I honestly don't think it's needs any assistance. (Via FilmDrunk)
The Spirit Misses Razzie Nomination By A Hair [Razzies]
io9 —
The nominations for all of the worst movies of 2008 are out. And lucky, lucky Frank Miller missed the nominations for the worst movie in the history in the world by a few days. Unfortunately, The Spirit came out too late to make the Razzie nomination ballot, according to the site: ALTHOUGH IT FLOPPED TOO LATE to MAKE OUR NOMINATING BALLOT, WE THOUGHT ITS UNDER ACHIEVEMENTS EARNED IT a PLACE on OUR FORUM. Frank Miller is a lucky man, but I'm not going to forget the sins this movie committed that easily. See you next year, Miller. Until then, there are a large group of science fiction ...
Weird Web Wednesdays: Don’t Tase Me, Brolin
Film Junk —
Well folks, it’s been a few weeks but we’re finally getting caught up on all of the funny vids that we missed over the holidays. First and foremost though, check out the crazy footage that has surfaced of Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright being abused by some cops outside a Louisiana bar. It seems odd that this video should suddenly leak on the day that their charges have been dropped. Also this week on Weird Web Wednesday, a live action Thundercats movie becomes a reality, Robocop sells fried chicken in Korea, and a kid gets really excited about receiving a Nintendo Wii for Christmas. (Even more than a ...
Who’s in the Running for the 29th Annual Razzie Awards?
Film Junk —
The official nominees for this year’s Razzie Awards (ie. the worst movies of the year) won’t be announced until January 21st, but in the meantime it seems that the “shortlist” of potential candidates has found its way onto the web via one of the registered voters over at the MTV Movies Blog.
It looks like a lot of the usual suspects are on the ballot including not one but two films from Uwe Boll, Paris Hilton’s The Hottie & The Nottie, M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening, and both Disaster Movie and Meet the Spartans (apparently as one ...

The Worst: FROM HELL (2001)
If you think Zack Snyder had a dense, intricate Alan Moore work on his hands when he set about adapting Watchmen, consider what the Hughes Brothers stepped into when they decided to bring Moore’s graphic novel From Hell to the screen. A speculative fiction based on the legend of Jack the Ripper, From Hell is an insanely detailed look at an alternate Victorian England and the massive conspiracy at its heart. It’s endlessly fascinating stuff, and the Hughes Brothers threw ...
