Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen "vs. The Apocalypse"
Published 6/11/2008 at FilmWad
Canadian comedy buddies Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel are planning to star in "Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse," presumably because Seth Green is busy with his various animated shows and Jay Mohr insisted on playing the part with a Christopher Walken accent. According to Variety, the film is based on a short film made by Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg, which was in turn based on a story by Goldberg and Jason Stone. Goldberg and Rogen are writing the screenplay for the feature. A pretty funny trailer for the short showed up online about a year ago, so in case you missed it... ...

Well now we know what Seth and Jay were up to with their Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse trailer. They were pitching a movie. A movie which is now a reality. Seth Rogen overload?
Published 6/11/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (Reel Fanatic) at Reel Fanatic
I don't think I've reached that point yet, but it certainly does seem like the "Freaks and Geeks" and "Undeclared" veteran unleashed by Judd Apatow is just about everywhere nowadays. A look at the IMDB sheet after "Kung Fu Panda," the surprisingly satisfying summer flick that's currently kicking all kinds of box office tail (we're talking about a kids' movie after all, so let's keep it clean) reveals a very busy slate. First comes the comedy I'm most looking forward to this summer, the stoner buddy flick, "Pineapple Express"; then, if this ever really does see the light of day, a role in the geek flick "Fanboys"; the lead opposite Elizabeth Banks in ...

It's the end of the world as we know it and they feel high
Published 6/11/2008 by Catherine Shoard at Film: Film blog | guardian.co.uk
Few trailers really whip up much of a buzz. Fewer still provoke fierce bidding wars that see major studios vying for the chance to turn 90 seconds of footage into 90 minutes. The trailer for Jay and Seth vs The Apocalypse - or, rather, the short of the same name that was shot last year - is one of those few. And it features ... well, two blokes bickering in a room. One of them slaps his head a little. Another urinates into a bucket. It is, to be frank, pretty action-lite. The important factor, though, is that the man relieving himself is none other than Seth Rogen, fast becoming the hardest-working stoner ever. After signing off on the forthcoming ...

Apocalypse Now: Rogen, Baruchel to Face World’s End Together

Seth Rogen, ready to take over the world with his powers of comedy and this small, evil doll.
What if you and your best friend were the last people left on earth? Would you stay friends? Or would a few weeks of each other’s company leave you ready to surrender to the zombies, rampaging animals or massive doses of radiation that lay outside your door?
That’s pretty much the premise of Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mandate Pictures is turning the trailer for the not-yet-made film that hit Youtube last year into a feature film. Evan Goldberg, Seth ...
Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen vs… The Apocalypse?
Published 6/11/2008 by Sean at Film Junk
jaysethapocalypse.jpg The Judd Apatow/Seth Rogen machine just keeps right on rolling, and it looks like they’re aiming to make a big star out of yet another one of their buddies with this next project. Jay Baruchel (aka the nerdy kid from Undeclared ) will star alongside Rogen in an action-comedy called Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse . Details are scarce at the moment, but it would seem to be a play on the post-apocalyptic genre, with both Baruchel and Rogen playing fictional versions of themselves. The movie is based on a comedy short by Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg ( Superbad ), a trailer for which appeared online last year. If you ask ...

'Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse' to Become a Feature Film

Filed under: Comedy, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Deals, Trailers and ClipsAbout a year ago, a goofy trailer for what appeared to be a comedy short film appeared on YouTube. The movie it advertised was called Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse, and it starred Undeclared buds Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen as two schlubby guys dealing with a world ravaged by some sort of civilization-ending catastrophe. (You can still see the trailer here, though now I suspect it may disappear soon.) As best I can determine, the actual short film was never made available for public consumption, and maybe this ...
Apocalypse Wow! Seth Rogen Possibly Stoned
Published 6/11/2008 by Ian Dransfield at Hecklerspray
Seth Rogen is fast becoming one of the great character actors of our time.
The portly star of a string of comedies over the last couple of years has managed to wow us all with his portrayal of a slobbish stoner with a kind heart, a slobbish stoner with a kind heart and a slobbish stoner with a kind heart. Ron Perlman had better watch his back, as his crown is surely about to be stolen.
That’s right: signs are pointing towards Seth Rogen playing a slobbish stoner with a kind heart in his new movie.

Seth Rogen's Fake Apocalyptic Movie Trailer to Become a Real Movie
Published 6/11/2008 by BuzzSugar at BuzzSugar -- Entertainment hourly.
Movies dealing with post-apocalyptic scenarios often assume that the humans who survive the major disaster are rugged survivalists who are not only physically up to the task, but might also have the mental capacity to meditate on the state of humankind in the face of something so devastating.
But what if. . . when the world ends, the only people to survive are say, those stoner dudes who always pop up in Judd Apatow movies? That's pretty much the situation put forth in a hilarious fake movie trailer for Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse, starring Seth Rogen and his friend Jay Baruchel, and directed by Jason Stone. ...

Seth Rogen Farts Pure Gold

OK, exaggeration. But the dude is on fire both in front of and behind the camera, thanks partly to the fact that he's really funny ("Knocked Up," "Superbad") and partly to the fact that Judd Apatow thinks so too. The latest news from the Seth Rogen front is that he's scored a feature deal for "Jay And Seth Versus The Apocalypse," to co-star him and Jay Baruchel, the geek hero of Apatow's late, lamented "Undeclared" series.
Rogen's writing partner, Evan Goldberg, and another pal, Jason Stone, cooked up the story, which finds the two actors as stoners surviving and end-of-the-world event a la ...

Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen are no strangers to controversial subjects, whether it’s porn, pregnancy, or the Vietnam war. But are they going after the holy rollers in Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse?
The film, based on a short Baruchel and Rogen made a few years ago, focuses on two roommates trapped in an apartment when the world starts to cave in around them. The YouTube clip, which inspired the film, took 2 days to shoot on a $1,000 dollar budget, and is pretty damn amazing.
