Barack Obama Could Make Time for Europe … But Could Not Make Time For US Wounded Troops
Published 7/27/2008 by Scared Monkeys at Scared Monkeys
Barack Obama is supposed to be running to be the President of the United States, not the Premier of the EU. How is it that as PowerLine states, Obama had time to go to the gym and sightsee in Berlin but canceled his visit to see wounded soldiers in Germany. Doesn’t this say quite a bit about one’s character? John MCain has put out a political ad stating Obama did not visit troops because he could not bring a camera. That may make a dent to the anointed one’s image.

Obama's Rough Landing Home
Published 7/28/2008 by Faye Anderson at Black Voices Blogs
[image] Barack Obama is back from his whirlwind tour of the Middle East and Europe. Obama wowed 200,000 in Berlin , where he had them from Guten Tag . Which, loosely translated is I'm not George W. Bush . While Obama must be given props for his picture-perfect stagecraft , he acknowledges that his foreign trip may trip him up at home : In terms of raw politics, in the short-term there's just as much downside as upside to a trip like this, even when it's well executed. People at home are worried about gas prices, they're worried about mortgage foreclosures - and for a week they're seeing me ...
Trey Ellis: How Much Did McCain Pay for the Hillary Handbook?
Published 7/28/2008 by Trey Ellis at Huffington Post Entertainment Blog
And whatever it was he was ripped off. I know McCain's war chest seems more like a glove compartment compared to Obama's but still, buying your campaign playbook from the loser of the last race doesn't make any sense. It would be like plagiarizing last year's Laker's strategy when it was your team's turn against the Celtics.
It really seems that the only voting bloc McCain is courting these days is that of the Angry Old Man.
Not since the NAACP convention has McCain made a single non-vituperative comment about Obama. Instead, McCain's answer to "Yes, we can," seems to be "HEY YOU KIDS. GET THE ...
William Bradley: 13 Things To Know About The 3rd Straight Mac Attack Ad
Published 7/30/2008 by William Bradley at Huffington Post Entertainment Blog
John McCain's third straight attack ad.
Okay, another day, another John McCain attack ad on Barack Obama. This one came in over the weekend. It's the third straight, as the McCain campaign is increasingly abandoning positive advertising in favor of negative ads on the frontrunner. Though the positive ad I wrote about on July 10th is still in rotation, at least for now.
The latest Mac attack ad plays above. And here is the text:
Announcer: Barack Obama never held a single Senate hearing on Afghanistan.
He hadn't been ...
Running For President On $5 A Day [Public Relations]
Published 7/30/2008 by Hamilton Nolan at Gawker
In the (very near) future, presidential candidates will have national advertising campaign budgets of about $637 or so. They'll just make a few very low-tech ads full of stock photos and slanderous lies about their opponents, run the ad once at 3 a.m. on a small local news channel in the Midwest, and then let the news networks swoop in and show the ad in its entirety hundreds of times for free, repeating all of its slanderous lies each time. That's basically been John McCain's strategy so far, and it's working like a charm! The number of times Senator John McCain’s new advertisement attacking ...

William Bradley: Four On The Floor: Mac TV
Published 8/2/2008 by William Bradley at Huffington Post Entertainment Blog
John McCain's snarky "Celeb" TV attack ad, released July 30th.
So why did lovable old John McCain suddenly put out FOUR negative TV ads in less than two weeks?
After the latest (and rather good) version of his positive biographical spot went wide just three weeks ago?
I'll lay out the sequence of events and reasons at each juncture.
Are new campaign director Steve Schmidt and company crazy like foxes?
Or just crazy?
Well, here's the deal. Schmidt and company may be setting themselves up for a big backlash. ...
