A few days ago, I asked a few tough questions about the way Summit Entertainment is marketing their upcoming best seller adaptation Twilight. I was perplexed, because the marketing had not yet given me much in the way of how the film will play out tonally. Is it a vampire movie that happens to involve teenagers who fall in love, or is it a teenager love story that just happens to have some vampires? In my mind, there is a chasms difference between the two, at least when it comes to making a film.

In a couple of weeks, after all the hype around “The Dark Knight” slowly eases off, I’m pretty sure “Twilight” will become the next most anticipated flick of the year. Yahoo! Today posted a brand-new teaser for the flick, and I’m convinced it’s going to generate some solid buzz in the coming days.

In my heart of hearts, I want this movie to be good. While I haven't read the books (yet!), I like vampire-y love stories as much as the next girl. And from what I've learned about the books and the author, the whole thing is pretty intriguing.
So this second look at the Twilight movie confuses me a little bit. As someone who's looking at it without the background of having read the books, the whole thing still has a made-for-TV quality about it.
