Sa-Ra: Vote Obama
Published 5/5/2008 by Stone at The Couch Sessions
So I finally figured out why Obama is losing the working-class White vote…
This is bad. Decent track (flipping Ice Cube’s “Good Day”, but this video puts the McCain girls to shame. Seriously, the awfulness of this thing is tempting me to vote for McCain. (from Brandon at URB)
Seriously, if you’re in North Carolina or Indiana, please vote tomorrow! ...
Sa-Ra’s Taz Throws A Political Party On “Vote Obama”
Published 5/5/2008 at Complex
Music Sa-Ra’s Taz Throws A Political Party On “Vote Obama” voteobama_main.jpg The media fell in love with will.i.am’s “Yes We Can” video, but why does an anthem for political action have to be so damn somber? Taz Arnold (a.k.a. T.I.$.A. ) from innovative production crew Sa-Ra Creative Partners is taking a more light-hearted approach with the video for his song “Vote Obama.” In the colorful clip, directed by Kenzo Hakuta , Taz takes to the streets of L.A. to spread his message about votin’ the Obama way: “We hoood , we votin’, and throwin’ it up!” The track, which is basically an extended hook, samples the Isley Brothers’ ...
TI$A Wants You To 'Vote Obama'
Published 5/6/2008 by Butta at SOULBOUNCE.COM
TI$A, better known as Taz Arnold from the group Sa-Ra, has dropped a new video in support of Barack Obama. In an effort to rock the vote Obama's way, TI$A gathered up Kanye West, Jay-Z, Consequence, Fab 5 Freddy, Miss Jack Davey and more of his friends to make cameos in the colorful clip. The lyrics are hella repetitive, but the beat is hot (sampling Cube's "Today Was A Good Day") and the song is quite catchy. I already can't get the chorus ("we hood/we voting/and throwing it up") out of my head. This video is a little manic, but I'm all for whatever gets the message out ...
Another music video for Obama? But wait, this one's actually good!

In the past few months, I've personally witnessed everyone from Jay-Z to the Roots to Joanna Newsom interrupting their concerts to show Sen. Barack Obama some love — plus, of course, I've heard the billions of shout-outs that they and other musicians have offered him in interviews, songs, and videos. Now, just in time for ...

It's Time To Stop With The Obama Music Videos [At Least We Know DMX Will Stay Out Of It]
Published 5/9/2008 by Dan Gibson at Idolator
As you may know, YouTube has seen a number of lousy music videos in support of Barack Obama. I understand that his mix of populism and dreaminess is enough to woo even the most jaded Brits and Canadians, but c'mon, the election isn't until November. Can you musician types pace yourself a little?
The latest entry in the "hey, maybe I can do something for my career with one of these Obama videos" sweepstakes is Taz Arnold of critically acclaimed Kanye faves Sa-Ra Creative Partners, and while I admire his use of a loop from Ice Cube's "It Was A Good ...

That Daedelus is a clever chap. Inverting language the way he inverts expectations with his music, he has titled his new album Love to Make Music To. Cheeky!
Love features guest appearances from Paperboy, Michael Johnson, Taz Arnold and Om'Mas Keith of Sa-Ra, 1200 Techniques' N'fa, Erika Rose, and Daedelus' wife Laura Darling(ton).
Ninja Tune won't release Love to Make Music To until July 15, but a single for album cut "Hrs:Mins:Secs" is available now. A second single, "Make It So [ft. ...
