  Sounds ok but definitely not the voice that made her so famous. You would never know by listening that is her voice--sounds like any singer who makes a recording. Too much backup singers--she never needed so much backup before.

  I think Whitney is on a serious comeback.  I don't think she really needs a lot of back-up vocals, despite what anyone says, she still has those pipes.  I think this song between her and Akon, really illustrates the resurgence of "The Queen of Vocals."  WELCOME HOME Whitney, I love you like you never left.

Whitney Houston’s new song “Like I Never Left” was leaked over the weekend. This is Whitney’s first foray back in the biz since her ‘crack is whack’ days and her subsequent divorce from Bobby Brown. In fact, her last release was  a Christmas single back in 2003. Whitney’s new joint “Like I Never Left” is a love song featuring Akon, but at one point in the tune she coos, “Yes, your girl is back.” Maybe the title has a double meaning for homegirl. Her much anticipated album will be released later this fall.
