The 6-year-old boy who may or may not have fallen out of an experimental balloon that floated around and transfixed the country before landing in a field--apparently without him in it--has parents who appeared on ABC's Wife Swap earlier this year.
Falcon Heene's parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, were called "the storm-chasing, science-obsessed Heene" family by ABC when they appeared on the show's 100th episode. A homemade balloon that was thought to have been carrying a six-year-old Colorado boy hundreds of feet in the air above The Rockies has landed — and little Falcon Heene wasn’t inside.
When authorities approached the landed balloon, it was reportedly found to be empty.
Falcon’s parents, Richard and Naomi Heene, and the rest of family appeared on the 100th episode of the ABC reality show Wife Swap in March 2009. E!’s Joel McHale later made fun of Richard for blowing up at his “replacement wife” while she nagged him on an episode of The Soup.
